Programs

■ Child Safety Workshop
Our award-winning workshops use Kids On The Block, Inc. puppets to provide children with safety information. The workshops give children the skills they need to recognize, resist and report abuse. They teach children about safe, unsafe and confusing touch. In addition, the children explore the difference between abuse and discipline and learn to trust their instincts if they feel they are in danger.

■ Lighthouse Clothes Closet
A project in partnership with the Safe Horizon Jane Barker Brooklyn Child Advocacy Center. It provides necessities to children who may be displaced because of abusive situations.

■ Tomorrow’s Light
A new program designed by CAPP to assist other organizations and municipalities in establishing a child safety program based on the successful CAPP model.

■ Project Childsafe
There is a continued need for strong laws that protect our children from predators and punish those who harm children. CAPP is working as an advocate for tougher laws that will protect our children and support their families.

■ Professional Training Program
This successful program is designed for CAPP’s Prevention Specialists to work with school guidance counselors and administrators; NYPD Special Victims Unit detectives; ACS caseworkers; assistant district attorneys; healthcare professionals and other community-based professionals to provide training on child safety.

■ Child Protection Helpline
CAPP provides comprehensive information and assistance concerning the protection of children. The Helpline is staffed by trained CAPP personnel and all calls are confidential.
