Lighthouse Children’s Closet

In partnership with the Brooklyn Child Advocacy Center, CAPP has created the Lighthouse Children’s Closet. With support from donors, CAPP has stocked this special closet with clothing, pajamas, toiletries, toys and books. These items are placed in overnight bags given to children who need to be moved to a safer environment because of abuse in their homes. The children pick the items for the bag themselves; in this way they feel they have something of their own to take with them when they are moved.

Work in Progress–Prevention specialists Kristen Westerman and Christine Gibbons showcase their artistic talents while painting a mural for CAPP’s “Lighthouse” Children’s Closet at the Brooklyn Child Advocacy Center.
